Shop Till Ya DROP

January 25

Today was our off day (FINALLY), we all needed a day off! We got up at 11:30am and didn’t leave the hostel until 12:30, we were very sleepy. Sam, Nicole, Robby, Cam and I all put on our shopping clothes and hit up the stores! We first went to Espresso House which is at the corner of every street, it reminds me of Starbucks but way better. Their sandwiches, desserts, and coffee is all so good you really can’t go wrong. I got a mozzarella and chicken sandwich that came with a mini salad and a vanilla latte. When they make lattes they add a little heart to the top which I think is adorable.

After brunch, we headed to a chocolate shop we ran into on one of the first days we were here but it was closed so we went today! The chocolate here is unbelievable, I wish I could buy the entire store out! We got gifts for our families and friends. We then went next door because Robby said he had a surprise for us, we walked in and were greeted by DOGS! I am a sucker for dogs, I have two golden doodles that I miss so bad so every time I see a dog here, I just want to pick it up and run. I don’t think I can ever live without a dog!

Robby and I with the DOGGOS! So cute!

We then walked over to Nordstan. It was so busy today, everywhere we went it was crowded. Saturday most be the huge shopping day here! We went to Zara, H&M, KappaAhi, Mango, and a department store called NK. NK was designer clothes and really nice makeup brands, it was fun to look but not buy. Zara and H&M here are so big, we spent hours in those stores! I ended up getting a few things like bracelets, a necklace, and a top! Cam got a suit with a turtleneck which he wanted the entire trip and decided to get today! Sam got a blazer and a few cute tops! Today was a success, you can tell by all of our bags!

We also saw a really pretty sunset that I took a picture of below!

The streets at night are so pretty, we walked around trying to find stores that were still open by Nordstan. Many stores close at 6 on weekends and 8 on weekdays which we find to be very odd, but it’s always fun to just walked around! We stumbled upon a smoothie and juice place and got some smoothies. There are so many healthy cafes and juice places here, I wish we had more in the states! Below is a picture of the streets here, many of them still have Christmas decorations up!

Check out the buildings and the cobblestone street, so pretty!

Tonight, we went to a Himalayan restaurant which was honestly not bad. We ordered 10 different plates for our 8 person table and just tried the different food! There was catfish, salmon, pork, lamb, chicken, vegetables, rice, and shrimp all mixed with different sauces and spices!

This was the salmon which was so good-a little spicy but full of flavor! There seafood here is incredible!

We then walked back to the hostel and got ready to go out and have some fun!

Daily Reflections

  • Somersby Pear Cider is the best cider I have ever had
  • H&M is my new favorite stores
  • I miss my dogs-the dogs here are SO CUTE! I have actually seen a lot of golden retrievers which are my favorite kind of dogs!
